Wow. A big part of the ethical and sustainable fashion community of New York seemed to be at the panel organized by Thr3efold's Jessica Kelly. Quite a few brands were represented and showcased their products. This was definitely an interesting part of the event.
The longer it went on, the more people flocked in and by the time the panel started, the huge room at Mezzanine was filled with fashionistas, bloggers, fashion industry people and other guests.
The amazing sisters Rachael and Elena Baxter of the Conscious Magazine moderated the panel that included Alden Wicker of Ecocult, Jessica Kelly, Ashley Austin of behno and Carmin Black of Half United.
Needless to say we all agreed on the neccessity to make fashion more transparent, more just and much cleaner. For the first time since A New York Affair was founded we felt community. You know, not in the I live in this or that kind of community way, but a sense of striving for the same common and greater goal kind of way.
I wish we would have had the chance to talk to many more attendents, but like always time was scarce.
Nevermind, there are more events this week! Just keep on asking #whomademyclothes
