Ethical Fashion Week Berlin. Wir sind auch Berliner.

I had exciting encounters at the Ethical Fashion Week in Berlin in January, which was part of the greater Berlin Fashion Week. It's basically the main gathering of many European sustainable and fair fashion brands. I had the chance to talk to eco concept store owners, bloggers, other ethical fashion brand owners, suppliers and retailers. Needless to say that it was very inspirational and I learned a lot about the t-shirt game and about fashion business in general! Moreover, it was really positive to feel a certain solidarity among the brands. We're part of the fashion revolution and want everyone to succeed for the greater goal.

Some of these ethical fashion brands have come up with truly ingenious ways of reducing waste, upcycle and recycle. Brands like Dedicated or Knowledge Cotton have caught my eye for really stylish urban menswear.

While my focus was on the ethical fashion branch of the fashion week, I didn't miss the opportunity to head over to Seek, a gigantic contemporary urban fashion trade show.

I was delighted to see some fellow New Yorkers and all time favorites, even if it was only in a picture by the famous photographer Ricky Powell.

We made it to Broadway! Broadway Market that is.

A lot of things happened in ethical fashion / fair fashion in general and in our business adventure in specific. Since the launch of A New York Affair we had many encounters that were very beneficial and eye opening.

While undertaking the first social marketing campaigns we had the opportunity to share a booth at the Broadway Market in Soho, Manhattan. This presented a first very good opportunity to showcase our t-shirts and get direct costumer feedback. We sure enjoyed talking to many shoppers.

As the international brand that we are, A New York Affair then had the opportunity to test the Swiss market at the Heiliger Bimbam, an amazing annual indoor market in Zurich, Switzerland. The t-shirt made great Christmas gifts and hey, they still male great birthday gifts throughout the year! The Fairtrade Mark recognition in Switzerland is pretty high, so naturally we decided to present it well to the crowd.
